Anxious about the dentist?

There are many reasons why people feel fear around dental appointments, here are just a few of the most common ones:

  • A painful or difficult past experience at the dentist

  • Scared of pain or discomfort

  • Worried about being ‘told off’ by the dentist or hygienist

  • Uncomfortable in unfamiliar surroundings

  • A parent who had dental fear, causing an ‘inherited’ or ‘learned’ anxiety

Along with the differing reasons for suffering with dental anxiety, there are also varying levels of fear. At Highfield Dental & Facial Clinic, we are faced with various levels of dental fear almost every day. Some people are so phobic that they cannot even enter a dental practice. Others may not suffer as badly but still find dental appointments unenjoyable and delay their routine dental care.

However dental anxiety affects you, we have lots of tips and tricks to help.

We genuinely care about how you feel when you visit us, not just physically, but emotionally and financially too.

We value the individual relationship we have with each and every patient. This means being open and honest, and always giving you plenty of time at each appointment, so you never feel rushed. In this way, we can be sure you feel completely satisfied and supported during each visit.

Our ground-floor clinic is situated next to University of Southampton with free on-site parking for our patients.

Perio+

Why join our membership plan?

We want to work with you to ensure that your dental and oral health is as good as it can possibly be, and we want you to be confident and comfortable when you smile, speak, and eat.

Research has found that people on a monthly dental membership plan are more likely to enjoy better oral health because they visit the dentist and hygienist more frequently, which helps to diagnose problems early.

Following your initial new patient examination, your dentist will recommend and discuss the most suitable membership for you. We look forward to welcoming you to our dental family.

As a member, you will also benefit from:

  • Emergency appointments included

  • *10% off most routine dental treatments

  • Worldwide accident and emergency insurance

  • Cosmetic, implant and orthodontic consultations inclusive

*10% off most routine dental treatments excludes root canal treatments, cosmetic treatments, implants and orthodontics

My visits to Highfield Dental and Facial Clinic have been very positive. All the staff are friendly and professional. I feel safe and 'listened to' when I am sat in the dentist chair. Treatment and costings are fully explained. Thank you Team.
